Vietnam Trip
Hi Ruby
Thank you for the fantastic trip which was so well-organised it went without a hitch. It was pretty full on fitting in everything we did and all the places we visited, which we couldn’t have done without your good planning. I found Vietnam very interesting – what a history! – and it is great to see all the development taking place. I especially enjoyed Sapa, Halong Bay and Hoi An. I would love to return one day to these places and others I didn’t see – at a more leisurely pace. The guides were all good but especially Tony in Hanoi and the northern areas, and while I only had one day with Lin on the tour to the Mekong Delta she was also very good. Tony and Lin were both very helpful and informative on a lot of different things.
We unfortunately had very hot weather while we were there (the hottest 2 weeks of the year I’ve heard), so I’d definitely come back at a cooler time next time. It made some of the touring very uncomfortable, especially the walk in Sapa (which I thought we had shortened from the original 12 kms but turned out to be almost that long) in the middle of the day, and the bicycle riding in Hoi An – both enjoyable but hot! (I actually took a motorbike for the last couple of kms of the walk because I was so hot – Marian soldiered on!)
I guess the heat and also the tipping would be the only things we found hard. Australia is not a tipping country so we find it tricky. Perhaps walks etc should be scheduled early in the day at that time of the year.
But anyway, yes, I would definitely recommend your company to anyone going to Vietnam, and if I return I will certainly contact you. I’m sure Marian will send you her own feedback. This is just mine.
It was great to meet you in Hanoi and thanks for the beautiful gift. We bought some other lovely mementos along the way. I’ve attached a couple of my favourite photos, including ones of the guides. (Unfortunately my little camera didn’t do justice to Halong Bay!)
Thanks again!
Kind regards,
Kathy Connolly
