DETAILED ITINERARY :

Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau (L, D)

Depart early morning for a three hour drive to Mai Chau. Nestled in a lush and scenic valley, Mai Chau is home to the White Thai minority group in the North of Vietnam and offers an exciting and interesting mix of culture and adventure. Upon arrival Lac Village, we check into a local thatch house where we will be welcomed to spend our night as guests of the host family. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Take this unique opportunity to stroll around this charming village and observe the local daily life and customs. Tonight we will attend a traditional dance performance by the local Thai people.

Day 2: Mai Chau - Hang Kia Village (trek 10km) (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we bid a farewell to the host family and make the acquaintance of our local guide who will brief us on the trek and escort us during our exciting cultural expedition. We will transfer 45 mins by private vehicle to the Hmong minority village of Sa Linh to begin our three hour trek. Stop en route to take great photos, meet the locals and take a well-earned rest. Later we arrive at the village of Hang Kia, home to the Black H’mong minority group. Here, we check into our simple homestay accommodation to freshen up and spend the evening.

Day 3: Hang Kia - Van Village (trek 25km) (B, L, D)

Enjoy breakfast with the host family before heading off the beaten track to trek through the tranquil, tropical rainforest, experiencing some up and down steps. We follow the local dirt trails and pass some small springs before we reach the top of the hill surrounded by cornfields. We enjoy a picnic lunch at this peak before we descend into the natural beauty of the Mai Chau Valley arriving at White Thai village of Van by late afternoon. Tonight we spend the night in a traditional house and have dinner with the local family.

Day 4: Van village – Mai Chau (trek 27km) (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we hit the road for another challenging trek of approximately 10km to Xo village where we will stop for a simple lunch. Next we embark on a five hour trek from Xo back to Mai Chau. On arrival we will check into a nice comfortable hotel for the night. Enjoy the facilities of the hotel by having a relaxing massage or a refreshing swim in the outdoor swimming pool.

Day 5: Mai Chau - Nanh Village (trek 10km) (B, L, D)

Departing Mai Chau we take a short drive to the Da River where we embark on a pleasant boat cruise on the Da River. After one hour we arrive at the dock to disembark and commence the final challenging and exciting trek of the trip. After 10km trekking up and down hill, we reach the beautiful village of Nanh, inhabited by the typical ethnic minority Red Dzao. Upon arrival, we check into our home stay where our local guide will cook and serve us a delicious lunch. The rest of the day is free to wander around the village to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and gain understanding of how the local people live. Overnight in local home-stay.

Day 6: Nanh Village – Hanoi (B)

In the morning, we will depart the village for the dock where we catch our boat to be delivered to our awaiting driver. Enjoy the wonderful scenery as we drive back to Hanoi by mid-day. Trip concluded or start another Vietnam adventure
