  • Upon arrival at Siem Reap airport you will be collected by your private guide on arrivals and then driven in a private van to your chosen hotel in downtown to check in.

  • Start in the morning driving among the jungle passing the local villages and shops. It’s a very special and acting day as you will explore some of Angkor’s most beautiful temples. We include tour the Angkor Thom City. We’ll start at the South Gate and explore the centerpiece of the ancient city, The Bayon. The Bayon has fifty four towers decorated with more than two hundred enigmatic smiling faces. The tour also includes the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Terrace of Elephants and Terrace of Leper Kings, as well as The Ta Prohm Temple. 
     
    After lunch (own account) we explore Preah Khan, in Preah Khan Baray. This was built during the reign of King Jayavarman VII. and originally designed for medical purposes (the ancients believed that going into these pools would balance the elements in the bather, thus curing disease); it is one of the many hospitals that Jayavarman VII built. The site was built in the second half of the 12th century, according to tradition, on a spot where the King fought a crucial battle against the Cham. 
     
    After spending the afternoon here, we will go to Pre Rup to see the sunset.

  • Sunrise Angkor Wat Temple, take breakfast with from hotel and have a picnic at Angkor Wat, continue to tour Angkor Wat Temple considered as an architectural masterpiece of Cambodian Ancient people. Then we enjoy a drive through the lovely countryside to visit Bantaey Srei and Bantaey Samre, which many consider Bantaey Srei to be the prettiest temple.
     
    In the afternoon, we will enjoy Tonle Sap Lake, Asia's largest inland lake also the biggest harvest fresh water fish in the world, which swells to ten times its normal size during the wet season; here you will visit the people living, school, hospital, church, fishing farm and crocodile farm in the floating village. 
     

    After touring your private guide and driver will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival at Hanoi's Noi Bai international Airport, your local guide will pick us up and transfer to the hotel.

  • Today we enjoyed a guided tour of Hanoi. Our day begins at the One Pillar Pagoda, constructed by Emperor Ly Thai Tong, to resemble a lotus blossom. The Temple of Literature was founded in 1070 by Emperor Ly Thanh Tong and dedicated to Confucius. Vietnam's first university was also established here to educate the sons of mandarins. View the former residence of Ho Chi Minh, a stilt house constructed in the style of Vietnam's ethnic minority groups. In the late afternoon, we take a one hour cyclo tour to  downtown and the famed Old Quarter, followed by the traditional water puppet show

  • Depart for Ninh Binh, a world of natural and cultural heritage for us to explore. After a three hour drive we arrive in Ninh Binh, visit the Bai Dinh Pagoda, considered as one of the biggest pagodas in the South-East Asia. Then drive to Hoa Lu to visit the remains of the temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, the two heroes who lived in the 10th century and chose Hoa Lu to build the citadel of the capital city ( from 968 to 1009). Take a leisurely sampan ride on a creek, stretching across large stretches of rice paddies, while admiring the beautiful natural scenery, referred to many as the "dry Halong Bay," with limestone peaks and fertile green valleys. Transfer to the hotel to check in.

  • Leaving Ninh Binh we travel to the northern city of Halong in the early morning to board our junk for the cruise. The boat will set sail along Halong Bay at noon, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch on board docking at Tip Top Beach. The afternoon is spent visiting a local fishing village by tender boat or go on a guided kayak tour around the rock formation. Arrive at the boat's docking area at Luon Bo in the early evening. Enjoy a sundowner on deck before dinner.

  • An early morning session of Tai Chi is offered on deck should we wish to do some stretching or we can watch the sun rise over the limestone cliffs. Excursion to Surprise Cave before enjoying brunch on board while sailing back to the dock. We are picked up by our guide and driver again to return Hanoi. Along the way we stop at Phu Lang ceramic village, one of the last remaining pottery villages in Northern Vietnam which have been producing ceramics since the 13th.

    Transfer privately to Hanoi airport for a short evening flight to Hue. Upon arrival in Hue, your local guide will pick you up and transfer to hotel. Check in hotel.

  • The majority of the morning is spent on a cruise along the Perfume River. Our first stop along the river is at Thien Mu Pagoda, founded in 1601 by Lord Nguyen Hoang. Return to the city center for lunch before continuing to visit the Citadel, the city's Imperial Palace, Tu Hieu Pagoda and King Tu Duc's Tomb. Take a walking tour of the local Dong Ba Market. After dinner, we enjoy a traditional music show on the Perfume River.

  • Morning departure for Hoi An, driving the stunning route via Hai Van Pass (Ocean Cloud Pass) and the wonderfully photogenic fishing village of Lang Co before reaching Danang. Stop to tour the famed Cham Museum and the Marble Mountain before arriving in the Old Merchant town of Hoi An. Check in hotel.

  • Morning we enjoy a private guided tour of this historic town, visiting the Hoi An Museum, Phuc Kien Congregation House, Tan Ky Ancient House and the Japanese Covered Bridge. Return to your hotel, enjoying some relaxation time poolside.

  • After breakfast at your hotel, we are taken back to Da Nang Airport for a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City, also called Saigon. Upon arrival, we enjoy a guided tour of the city, visiting the former Presidential Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, General Post Office (GPO),  Opera House, Jade Emperor Pagoda and Ben Thanh Market.

  • Early morning depart Saigon, we drive 2,5 hours to Cai Be town, located in the heart of the Mekong Delta. On arrival, we will embark on a boat trip to visit the vibrant and colorful Cai Be Floating Market where we will have the opportunity to observe hundreds of boats laden with exotic tropical fruits and vegetables for trade.

    We continue our explorations through the lush green vegetation of the canals to an orchard, where we are treated to a delicious lunch complete with locally grown tropical fruits. Visit some of the local industries and sample the mouth-watering pop rice, rice paper and coconut candy. After touring we return to the docks where we are collected by van and driven back to Ho Chi Minh City by 5.30pm at the end of another unforgettable day.

We are both well thank you. We are still a bit tired from the overnight flight we had from KL to Adelaide but that will pass.
Ann and I were both thoroughly satisfied with all aspects of the trip. All of the  guides and drivers throughout were excellent as was our accommodation.

Each city and town had its own special charm and we particularly liked the temples of Angkor, Hoi An and Luang Prabang  and the boat trips on  the Mekong and Halong Bay were special. The whole trip was most enjoyable.

I have attached the questionnaire which Tommy gave us on leaving Hanoi.

We would certainly be interested in what you have to offer for a trip to Burma, particularly if it has the same format as we had in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.

We have told everyone what a good job you have done.
