image Saigon By Nigh - View from the new Bitexco Tower
  • We start our day with a visit to the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels. This extreme 3-level underground system is in total, about 250 km stretching from HCM City suburb to the Cambodian border and was home to Vietcong guerillas for 10 years of the last brutal war. Today the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attraction giving the visitor a unique experience and a feel of what underground life was like during that difficult time.

Tay Ninh, near the Cambodian border, is home to the unique Cao Dai sect, whose patron saints include Joan of Arc, Victor Hugo and Winston Churchill to name a few. The religion is an odd mix of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and Christianity. The trip to Cao Dai Holy See in Tay Ninh is scheduled after our exploration of Cu Chi tunnel, allowing us to experience the grand mid-day service. Return to town in the evening. Overnight in Saigon

image The Great Cao Dai Temple in Tay Ninh
  • This half – day city tour unravels Saigon's turbulent past and also provides a glimpse into the fascinating variety the city has to offer.  We first visit the Reunification Palace: Here on April 30th 1975 the war officially ended when tank 843 of the North Vietnamese Army crashed through the gates of what was, at the time, the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam. We then continue to the War Remnants Museum: This is a poignant display of the futility of war, the Notre Dame Cathedral and General Post Office: Built between 1877 and 1883 this is one of the best examples of classical French colonial architecture. Transfer privately to Tan Son Nhat airport for a short flight to Nha Trang.

Arrive in Cam Ranh airport (Nha Trang) and transfer to our central located hotel. Overnight in Nha Trang.

“Incredible Tour”

My husband and I were interested in visiting Vietnam and found Kata at Indochina Pioneer who gave us a sample itinerary to look at. It sounded good so we went for it. Everything we did; the hotels, sights, inner-country flights, transfers, guides, etc. were planned by Kata with perfection. She even came to see us at our hotel in Hanoi. She is adorable! We wanted to get the 'flavor' of Vietnam and see as much as we could in 9 days. We started in Hanoi (Northern), went to Halong Bay (overnight on small cruise ship), then to Hoi An (Center), and on to Ho Chi Minh City (Southern). We walked, ate, biked, boated, ate, shopped... and did I mention eating? Everyone we met was friendly and prices of everything were very low. I would recommend Indochina Pioneer and Vietnam to everyone!

“Thank you Indochina - wonderful tour”

My husband and I joined by two friends recently toured Vietnam for 12 days - what an incredible experience it was . I spent many hours surfing the web looking to a decent tour operator in Vietnam who could put together a program that suited our needs. I found Lam at Indochina Pioneer to be extremely professional and knowledgeable and produced a wonderful tour covering all the highlights we requested and at a very reasonable price. The hotel selection was terrific and his tour guides in each city were friendly and very informative. we travelled from the Mekong Delta in the south up to SaPa in the north , including HCMC , Hoian, Hue, Hanoi and loved every part of it, especially the people . I highly recommend Indochina Pioneer to make your dream holiday to Vietnam a reality. Thank you Lam

"Professional & Caring"

Hi Lam,

I am back at work, having returned on Monday, but not jet lagged at all.

I wanted to email you with my many many thanks to you for organising and re-organising everything for us.  The trip was wonderful.  Sapa was beautiful and I could live there and Ha Long Bay, although the weather wasn’t hot enough for me at least, to swim, the kayaking was great as if it was hot I think I would not have survived!!!  Pity we didn’t get to the Chinese border for some reason, as we had plenty of time after the waterfalls.

Tung and Hong our last tour guide and driver were the absolute best.  Tung took us into the villages of the people and we were fortunate enough to go into two of their homes.  The people were very welcoming to us and I am so very glad to have selected a private tour with your company as we would not have been able to experience the journey into the depth that we did.

Tung showed us so much more, one night we didn’t return until 9.00 p.m.  Hong didn’t mind either, his driving, although I had to close my eyes many times, Joe just loves to “live to the edge”, was fantastic also, pity he couldn’t speak English.  He reminded us of an actor in a James Bond movie – the one who threw his hat off at people and killed them as the hat had a blade which cut people’s head off – Hong certainly had a presence about him.

We thank you so very much for the change of guide and driver and the room change also at the May Deville Hotel.  The room was absolutely spectacular.

Of course, we have been talking to all our friends and suggested they travel through your company and on a private tour, as this is the only way the tour would be flexible.  I was in and out of the car and you cannot do this on a bus trip.

We meet so many lovely Vietnamese people and loved their culture and traditions.  I say to people here in Australia, that if Australia lost all the power and we had to go back to basics and start to re-build, we wouldn’t survive, but Vietnam would – they are so dextrous in their lives, can do anything and are very happy people!

When I get some time, I will go on trip advisor and tell the world about the wonderful experience through IndoChina Pioneer.  I hope that Tung goes a long way in his life journey and succeeds in whatever he does.  Please again, pass our any thanks to Kam, Nam and Tung for their wonderful guidance and advise whilst we travelled through your beautiful Country.

Take care Lam, and thank you also, for your professionalism and caring, our gratitude to you.

Kind regards

Carolyn
