BRIEF ITINERARY
Day 1: Saigon – Vinh Long (L, D)
This morning we make our way through the tributaries of the Mekong Delta. A three-hour drive through lush green orchards and farms will bring us to the town of Vinh Long – a city in the heart of Mekong Delta. Upon arrival, we embark on a boat cruise with a local guide around the Mekong River; visiting the cottage industries such as pottery workshops and fresh-water crocodile farms. We stop at a bonsai garden to sample some local specialties. In the afternoon, we arrive at our home stay on the island where we are provided with bedding accommodations. After check-in, we take a walk around the island to see how the locals live and work. Return to host family to relax before dinner. Overnight in home stay
Day 2: Vinh Long – Cai Be – Saigon (B)
We begin the day with a simple breakfast and then bid fare-well to the host family before continuing our boat trip to Cai Be Floating Market. After that we return to the dock and from here we take a walk to visit the local businesses where rice paper and fish sauce are processed for sale. Return to our bus and then drive back to Saigon, stopping briefly en route at Vinh Trang Pagoda. End of service.
