Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Phnom Penh Arrival          

Upon arrival at Phnom Penh airport you will be met by our Indochina Pioneer representative and transfered to the hotel to check in.

Day 2: Phnom Penh City tour – Siem Reap   
After breakfast at our hotel we head out to visit the city’s major sights that include the National Museum, Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda. After lunch, we  transfer to the airport for our flight to Siem Reap. Arrive and check into our hotel.

In the afternoon we visit the local Siem Reap market, Les Artisans D’ Angkor and climb the Phnom Bakheng Hill to view the stunning sunset over the Angkor Wat. This evening, we enjoy the Apsara show with a buffet dinner.

Day 3: Siem Reap – Fly to Hanoi          
Today we enjoy a full day temple tour which includes: Ta Prohm, Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat. Visit Angkor Thom, the royal capital of prolific builder Jayavarman VII, dating from the late twelfth century. One of the most striking monuments is the Bayon, a mountain of face-towers, said to be the likeness of the king himself. Outside of Angkor Thom, view the remains of Ta Prohm which has been left as it was rediscovered, entwined by strangler-figs. In the afternoon, we continue our tour by visiting the awe-inspiring Angkor Wat, state-temple of Suriyavarman II dating from the early 12th century and the largest religious monument on earth. Have dinner at a local restaurant before we transfer to the airport for our flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival, our guide will pick us up and transfer to the hotel.

Day 4: Hanoi city tour     
Today we enjoyed a guided tour of Hanoi. Our day begins at the One Pillar Pagoda, constructed by Emperor Ly Thai Tong, to resemble a lotus blossom. The Temple of Literature was founded in 1070 by Emperor Ly Thanh Tong and dedicated to Confucius. Vietnam's first university was also established here to educate the sons of mandarins. View the former residence of Ho Chi Minh, a stilt house constructed in the style of Vietnam's ethnic minority groups. In the late afternoon, we take a one hour cyclo tour to  downtown and the famed Old Quarter, followed by the traditional water puppet show.

Day 5: Hanoi – Ninh Binh        
Depart for Ninh Binh, a world of natural and cultural heritage for us to explore. After a three hour drive we arrive in Ninh Binh, visit the Bai Dinh Pagoda, considered as one of the biggest pagodas in the South-East Asia. Then drive to Hoa Lu to visit the remains of the temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, the two heroes who lived in the 10th century and chose Hoa Lu to build the citadel of the capital city ( from 968 to 1009). Take a leisurely sampan ride on a creek, stretching across large stretches of rice paddies, while admiring the beautiful natural scenery, referred to many as the "dry Halong Bay," with limestone peaks and fertile green valleys. Transfer to the hotel to check in.

Day 6: Ninh Binh – Halong Bay    
Leaving Ninh Binh we travel to the northern city of Halong in the early morning to board our junk for the cruise. The boat will set sail along Halong Bay at noon, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch on board docking at Tip Top Beach. The afternoon is spent visiting a local fishing village by tender boat or go on a guided kayak tour around the rock formation. Arrive at the boat's docking area at Luon Bo in the early evening. Enjoy a sundowner on deck before dinner.

Day 7:  Halong Bay – Hanoi – Hue
An early morning session of Tai Chi is offered on deck should we wish to do some stretching or we can watch the sun rise over the limestone cliffs. Excursion to Surprise Cave before enjoying brunch on board while sailing back to the dock. We are picked up by our guide and driver again to return Hanoi. Along the way we stop at Phu Lang ceramic village, one of the last remaining pottery villages in Northern Vietnam which have been producing ceramics since the 13th.

Transfer to Hanoi airport for a short evening flight to Hue. Upon arrival in Hue, our guide will pick us up and transfer to hotel. Check in hotel.

Day 8: Hue City tour      
The majority of the morning is spent on a cruise along the Perfume River. Our first stop along the river is at Thien Mu Pagoda, founded in 1601 by Lord Nguyen Hoang. Return to the city center for lunch before continuing to visit the Citadel, the city's Imperial Palace, Tu Hieu Pagoda and King Tu Duc's Tomb. Take a walking tour of the local Dong Ba Market. After dinner, we enjoy a traditional music show on the Perfume River.

Day 9: Hue – Danang – Hoi An      
Morning departure for Hoi An, driving the stunning route via Hai Van Pass (Ocean Cloud Pass) and the wonderfully photogenic fishing village of Lang Co before reaching Danang. Stop to tour the famed Cham Museum and the Marble Mountain before arriving in the Old Merchant town of Hoi An. Check in hotel.

Day 10: Hoi An Walking tour     
Morning we enjoy a guided tour of this historic town, visiting the Hoi An Museum, Phuc Kien Congregation House, Tan Ky Ancient House and the Japanese Covered Bridge. Return to your hotel, enjoying some relaxation time poolside.

Day 11: Hoi An – Danang – Nha Trang     
Transfer to the airport for a flight to Nha Trang. Arrive and check into our hotel room.

In the afternoon we visit the Ponagar Temple and Long Son Pagoda before arriving at your hotel. The rest of the afternoon is left free for you to relax at the hotel.

We select spacious and luxurious 4 and 5 star hotels offering the highest degree of personal service; luxury appointments, superlative service and highest standards of comfort. However, if you prefer to choose your own hotels, we will be more than happy to accommodate you.  Basically the luxury hotels we choose feature:

Breakfasts: Breakfasts are always included unless specified.  Breakfasts are usually served buffet style with a good mix of local and international food.
Lunch: There are 8 lunches included on this tour. Meals provided are in Vietnamese and Cambodian fine dining restaurants, allowing you to savor authentic local cuisine at best quality. However, if you are not keen on local food, our tour guides will be more than happy to offer you alternatives for a surcharge. Note: Please advise us if you have any special dietary requirements.
Dinner: There are 1 dinner included on this tour. Same format as for lunch. If you do not like the local food, we can recommend other restaurants such as Indian, Japanese and Italian where you can dine for a surcharge.

One seafood meal will be served on board the overnight junk on Halong Bay. This will be a set menu, offering the freshest fish (caught that day) and always receives rave reviews from our clients! Vegetarians can request a non-fish meal.
Note: Lunches and dinners provided are all set menus, with various dishes which are sure to please most.  However if you prefer a la carte this can be arranged for a small extra charge. The restaurants will be chosen by us using our knowledge and experience of them, to ensure quality and value, whether a set menu or a la carte.
Please let us know in advance if you require vegetarian or vegan meals so this can be arranged for you.  It will also help if you let us know if anyone in your group is allergic to any type of food.
Drinks are at your own expense with all meals.
We use modern air-conditioned cars for 1-2 people and small comfortable vans for 3 -7 people. Modern A/C buses are used for groups of 10 or more.  All vehicles used by us are well-maintained and meet national safety regulations.  All of our drivers have 5 or more years’ experience, and always ensure a safe and comfortable ride for their passengers.
All of our Tour Guides are University educated. They were born and raised in Vietnam and Cambodia, thereby having first-hand expert knowledge of their country. They are friendly, fun, and most of all they are flexible, allowing you to choose the pace of your tours.
They will meet you at the airport with your driver, deliver you to your hotel for check-in, and accompany you on all of your private tours. And, of course, speak your language!
It’s normally cold (7 – 16 Degree Celsius with around 90% of humidity) in the North Vietnam from November until April so bring a (delete peace) light warm jacket with you if you travel within this time.
For the southern part of Vietnam and Cambodia, the heat can be a challenge from May to August. For the rest of the time the temperature does not change much. The rainy season makes it favorably cool for your adventure.
Sunblock, swimsuits and a light raincoat is advised all year round.
International Flights: International flights are NOT included in our prices. You should buy return tickets from your home Country to Vietnam, Cambodia or Laos, according to your arrival/departure points, and your passport must be valid for 6 months after your arrival.
On Tour Domestic Flights: Domestic flights ARE included in the tour price, if internal flights are on your tour itinerary. We use Vietnam Airlines.
Vietnam: For any booking of 10 days or more we will apply for a Visitor’s Visa, on your behalf, at no charge to you. However, you will still be required to the pay the visa stamp fees (USD 45 per person at time of writing) when picking up your Visa at the Airport upon arrival. Your passport must be valid for 6 months at the time of arrival.
Please note: Vietnam Visa on Arrival applies to air travel only. Those who check in at land border immigration checking points are requested to have your visa ready.
If there is a Vietnam Embassy or Consulate near where you live you can apply for a visa there.  You can also apply to the Vietnam Embassy online. Please ensure you apply for your visa well in advance of your trip.
Travel insurance is mandatory for all of our trips. We require that, at a minimum, you are covered for medical expenses, including emergency repatriation. We strongly recommend that your policy also covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage or personal effects. Travel agents and Airlines usually offer travel insurance, or will advise you where to obtain it.
When your trip is confirmed, we will request detailed insurance information from you for our files, which will also allow us to complete the necessary paperwork here in Vietnam.

4. Confirmation
Once you are satisfied with the itinerary, we will secure the services and you will be required to pay a deposit of 20% of the total cost of your trip. The balance of payment can be paid either by CASH UPON ARRIVAL in Vietnam, or by credit card/ bank transfer/Western Union 45 days before arrival.
