BRIEF ITINERARY:

Day 1 : Hanoi – Train to Sapa
Day 2 : Arrive Sapa
Day 3 : Sapa Sin Chai
Day 4 : Sin Chai – Thanh Phu
Day 5 : Thanh Phu – Sapa - Train to Hanoi
Day 6 : Arrive Hanoi. End of service

DETAILED ITINERARY:

Day 1: Hanoi – Lao Cai
This evening we will transferred to Hanoi Station for the overnight train to Lao Cai. The train ride is approximately 9 hours.

Day 2: Sapa arrival (B, L)
Upon early arrival at Lao Cai (app 4:30am), a border town to China, we will be picked up and transferred ascending to Sapa (formally known as the Hill Station) for breakfast. Note: Check into room is up to hotel availability. After breakfast in hotel, we have a stroll around town, visiting Sapa Market where the minority people, including the Red Zao, Hmong and Tay people, gather for trade. We also can climb Ham Rong Mountain for a panoramic view of Sapa below and its environs. Tonight we spend night in our hotel at Sapa town.

Day 3: Sapa - Ban Ho - Sin Chai (B, L, D)
The day commences with a jeep ride to the trekking route. From here we start walking through the incredibly scenic “Ban Ho” valley. There is lots of opportunity to visit and explore the wooden houses, which traditionally belong to the Tay ethnic minority. We will then continue to walk to Thanh Phu village where we will stop for lunch in a local house. After lunchtime, we head to another village - Sin Chai, home of Red Dao minority where the night will be spent in thatch house. The remainder of the day is free to explore the area. You will be attracted by the wonderful hospitable atmosphere of the Red Dao. Overnight in homestay
Approx: 1 hour driving/ 5 hours trekking/ 1 hour lunch.

Day 4: Sin Chai - Nam Nhiu - Nam Than - Thanh Phu (B, L, D)

Today’s trek takes us through several villages where we will be able to meet Tay, Hmong and Xa Pho ethnic minorities. We will have time to photograph the beautiful rice paddy terraces and spectacular mountains. On the way, we will make a stop to visit a local school. Lunch is prepared and served in a local house. In the afternoon, we head back to Thanh Phu village of Tay minority. Here you will spend our second night. Check into the homestay and relax. Tonight our dinner will be served with some beautiful Vietnamese dishes.

Approx: 4 hours trekking/ 1 hour lunch

Day 5: Thanh Phu - My Son - Nam Toong - Sapa (B, L)

On the last day of the trek, we will cross several suspension bridges and trek through lush rice paddy fields and stunning scenery. We have a unique opportunity to meet Xa Pho minority in My Son village, one of the smallest group ethnic living in Northern Viet Nam. These people always maintain their unique costume and nomadic life for many years. We continue to trek uphill to Nam Toong, a village of Red Dao minority, where we have lunch in a local school.

In the afternoon, our trek will be firstly downhill to Ban Ho village where you will have time for a swim in the river. We will then climb toward Su Pan. The car will pick us up and bring back to Sapa. Some day-use rooms will be provided for shower. After that we return to Lao Cai station with our entire luggage for night train back to Hanoi. Stay overnight on A/C train

Approx: 1 hour driving/ 4 hours trekking/ 1 hour lunch

Day 6: Hanoi

Arriving at Hanoi station at 5:00am, take a short transfer to our Hotel to drop our bags and have some breakfast. End of tour or start another adventure.
