Day 1:    Vientiane Arrival
Day 2:    Vientiane – Luang Prabang

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Vientiane (D)
Upon arrival in Vientiane, the capital of Laos, you will be met by our tour guide and transferred to your hotel in Vientiane. The remainder of the day is free to stroll around the city. Sunset over the Mekong River is a must-see.
Overnight and dinner in our hotel.

Day 2: Vientiane – Luang Prabang (B, L)
After breakfast, we will take a morning tour of this charming capital city. We begin with the religious museum of Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple to have survived the Siamese war of 1828, and its cloister contains more than 8000 Buddha statues. We continue to visit Wat Ho Prakeo, the former home-temple of the Emerald Statue or Pra Keo, but today it contains a collection of Buddha statues, antiques and artifacts found throughout Vientiane. In the afternoon we will take a short flight to Luang Prabang; the world cultural heritage site.

Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 3: Luang Prabang - Pak Ou Caves (B, L, D)

Luang Prabang is regarded by many as the most beautiful town in Asia with its green hills and sparkling gold temples. It was the first capital of the ancient Lane Xang Kingdom, remains the center of religious life in Laos and is today a World Heritage city.

This morning we make a visit to the National Museum; the former Royal Palace housing a collection of valuables including the famous Prabang Buddha statue and gifts from foreign dignitaries. We climb the 328 steps to the top of Mount Phousi to enjoy a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding countryside. It is then followed by the morning market and Ban Phanom weaving village. Later on we’ll travel on a long tailed boat for a few hours on the Mekong River to visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves with a picnic lunch included. En route we’ll also visit Ban Xanghai, a village famous for its Lao traditional rice whisky. Here we learn about how the whisky is distilled and may even sample some! Return to our hotel in the late afternoon. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 4: Luang Prabang – Departure day (B)

This morning we take a short sightseeing tour to discover the Golden City monastery, visiting the temples of Vat Mai (a temple renowned for its golden bas-reliefs). We’ll continue to the Vat Visoun which has been entirely rebuilt after being destroyed in 1887 by the invading Black Flags from southern China. We will also visit Vat That where the ashes of King Sisavang Vong are interred inside the large central stupa. In the afternoon, a short flight will return us back to Bangkok ỏ to Hanoi for transit to your destination flight. End of our service.
