I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for your prompt assistance in putting together on a Friday & Sat - my 15 day maiden Indochine tour of Laos, Vietnam & Cambodia from Oct 9-23, 2012.

The tour was very well organized and smooth without any hitches. Airport transfers, local transportation - trains, boats, cars/van/4 wheel drive, tour guides, food were excellent. As for hotels, all were central except for hotel in Vientiane - dusty because of massive road construction on Mekong river Salita hotel in Phnom Penh (was impressed with Khmer Surin guest house cum restaurant where I had a fabulous lunch)

Thank you for your professionalism, enthusiasm and personal touch. Many thanks for your potato chips and local vietnamese sweet delicacy. I look forward to visit Indochina in the near future for a more in depth look, hopefully with a partner or group.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Phnom Penh
Upon your arrival in Phnom Penh, your guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. Then we'll tour this beautiful city, visiting the National Museum and the Royal Palace built in 1866 by King Norodom.

Day 2: Phnom Penh – Fly to Siem Reap (B)

Today we fly to Siem Reap, gateway to the Angkor temple complex. After check in we'll explore the mysterious royal city of Angkor Thom. In the afternoon we'll visit the intricately carved Khmer stone structures at Angkor Wat, one of the world's most impressive ruins. We'll end the day by viewing the beautiful sunset from the hilltop temple of Phnom Bakheng.

Day 3: Siem Reap (B)

After breakfast we'll continue our exploration of Angkor by visiting Prasat Kravan, Pre Rup, East Mebon, Ta Som, Neak Pean and Preah Khan. In the afternoon we'll see Srah Srang, Banteay Kdei, Ta Keo, Chaosay Tevoda and Thomanon. These temples are on the same route as Ta Prohm and the picturesque Ta Prohm. These remarkable structures had nearly completely disappeared into the jungle and they are still overgrown, making for a haunting and exotic scene.

Day 4: Siem Reap – Fly to Vientiane (B)

Today we fly to Vientiane, also called city of the moon. The afternoon is spent taking a sightseeing tour of the city's major historic sites including the religious museums of Wat Sisaket, Wat Ho Prakeo, the former home temple of the Emerald Buddha statue and Luang Stupa, the single most important monument in Laos.

Day 5: Vientiane - Luang Prabang (B)

Our flight today is to Luang Prabang, which are the ancient first capital of Lane Xang kingdom and the center of religious life in Laos. Today it is a World Heritage City. We'll take a sightseeing tour of the sacred city of temples of which fifty remain in the town and its surrounding areas. We'll see the National Museum, the former Royal Palace, Wat Visoun, Wat Aham and Wat Xiengthong.

Day 6: Pak Ou Caves (B, L)

Today we'll spend a few hours travelling down the Mekong River on a long-tailed boat. We will visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves inside the limestone cliff opposite the mouth of the Mekong and Nam Ou Rivers. We'll visit the village of Ban Xanghai, best known for its production of the traditional delicious rice of this country. Our lunch will be eaten at a local restaurant on the bank of the Mekong River. Upon our return to Luang Prabang we'll visit Ban Xangkhong, a village known for its paper making and for its naturally dyed silk weavings.

Day 7: Kuang Si Waterfall (B, L)

Our excursion today is about 30 kilometers by road, to visit the Kuangsi Waterfall. En route, we'll stop to visit Ban Na Oune, a small H'mong village and also Ban Tha Pane, a small village inhabited by the Khmu people. We'll enjoy a picnic lunch near the waterfall.

Day 8: Luang Prabang Departure (B)

After breakfast, you'll have the opportunity to visit a local market before being escorted to the airport for your departure flight.
